PUPPY SCHOOL
Our 6 week Puppy School course runs from The Isabella Community Centre in Blyth (NE24 5JF) on Tuesdays at 6pm. There are no more than 6 puppies in each class to ensure that they have equal space to explore and take part in the training without the added pressure of socialising until they feel ready.

We cover 'Foundation skills' which include loose lead walking, recall, confidence building, happy handling, bed games and a whole host of other skills that can help prevent common behaviour problems from occurring. This class is suitable for puppies 6 months and younger.

The Puppy School course costs £150.00 per dog. During your course you'll receive written recaps from each lesson to guide you with your homework as well as free Whatsapp support / video analysis. At the end of the 6 weeks your pup will receive a personalised certificate to proudly display at home.

121 TRAINING
Our 121 training sessions are tailored to you and your dogs specific training needs. The first few sessions tend to take place in your home (their safe space) where we introduce and rehearse new behaviours, before venturing out into the surrounding area to put them to the test.

121 training offers a more personalised training experience, allowing you to study and practice the training techniques with friendly in-person support and guidance along the way.
We specialise in Reactivity, Rescue Rehabilitation, Assistance Dog Training, Resource Guarding, Loose Lead Walking and Recall, alongside general training and behaviour modification.

GRADUAL GROOMING
The grooming industry is marketed as a "Spa Day for Dogs", when in reality many find it extremely stressful. Dogs don't understand the concept of a haircut, or that grooming is an essential part of maintaining their health.

Many dogs simply tolerate the process, however some dogs feel that their safety is at risk and will try to run away, thrash or bite the groomer and equipment in a bid to make it stop. This then becomes an extremely dangerous environment for the dog and the groomer, with the dog often being referred for a sedated groom at the vets. Sedated grooms have their place when a dog is matted and in urgent need of grooming with no time to modify their behaviour, however it is not a long term solution.

With my knowledge of dog behaviour and my background in grooming, I came up with the 'Gradual Grooming Programme'. We would work together with your dog for 30 minutes at a time to desensitise them to the process, always going at their pace and using training techniques to break the groom up into bite size pieces in a way that gives your dog freedom and predictability.

I offer this service from my home-based grooming salon in Guidepost, Northumberland. I also offer online training on this subject for clients who live too far away, or to groomers who are looking to adapt this approach to their business (see online training prices).

ONLINE TRAINING
In person training isn't for every dog, especially those with a reactivity to people. A stranger coming into their safe space would only stress them out!
Maybe you have a busy schedule, learn better from listening, or you are just really set on me being your trainer and we live too far apart. Either way, online training may be right for you!

We will discuss your dog in-depth over an hour long video / phone call, from which I will devise a bespoke training plan and email it over with videos to support your learning. I'll be available for video analysis of your training progress / dogs behaviour in between our scheduled calls so you feel that you can get the answers you need clearly and quickly.

With dog training being an unregulated industry, online training can also be a safe way to utilise professional advise, like; what to do for the first few weeks when you bring your new puppy home, how to approach toilet training, how to help your rescue dog feel comfortable, what equipment is best to buy and what to avoid - absolutely anything!
